For all the truckers out there...
Great West Casualty reminded us that the 2011 Roadcheck starts TODAY! Make sure you and your equipment are ready before hitting the
road.
What are some simple things that you can do while driving?
| -wear your seatbelt |
-don't drive fatigued |
| -don't speed |
-put your cell phone DOWN! |
Did you know what the most common violations are?
| -brakes out of adjustment |
-tires and wheels |
| -brake problems |
-cargo load securement |
| -lights |
|
When inspected:
| -be professional and courteous |
| -have CDL & medical card (including waivers) |
| -have your log book (make sure it is current & neat) |
| -have your annual inspection for your truck |
| -have your trailer registration |
| -have your permit book (make sure documents are updated) |
And remember...
| -check tires carefully (bad tires are just asking for an inspection) |
| -inspection violations will become part of your CSA/SMS record |
| -ask for a sticker if you get a LEVEL 1 roadside inspection! |
So, please drive safe and remember these inspections are a big part of reducing truck related deaths!
